Today no cat cartoon, because I am not in the mood to let my cats make discussions. I am still worried about Arthur.
I took Arthur to the vet on Tuesday. (I will write more about it in Cats on Tuesday).
As you can see he lost a lot of weight more than 1 kg (2.2) lbs which is a lot for a cat.
He is quiet apathetic and spends a lot of time on the heating. He didn't want to eat. After the visit to the vet and a blood test, he has nothing serious, but can you give me some ideas with what I can feed him that he gains weight again ? Yesterday I gave him minced meat with an egg, and this he ate and apparently didn't vomit either. He also got special food from the vet, but he doesn't eat it.
Arthur was probably a farmer's cat in his former life, he loves everthing on our plates and is rather picky when it comes to specialized cat food. He doesn't like dry food very much either.
Does anybody have an idea to get him to his old self again, like on the above picture ?

Eggs, canned tuna, cheese are all good. Oh dear. My poor Arthur! Sending him healing thoughts and hugs to you both!!!
Poor Arthur. Perhaps some steamed chicken breast meat would help. It helped our Cinders eat!
Tuna water is a good start to perk up an appetite - and then feed him WHAT EVER he likes - not the time to worry about whether good or bad for him - Fancy Feast - a little raw hamburger - some scrambled egg - just be sure he get enough regular kitty food so he gets all this vitamins, etc.
Try a brand of cat food called Weruva...
The chicken ones and the tuna ones...
My cat will even eat cold leftovers of this one...it is such pure food we could eat it...smells amazing...
Either PetsInc or PetCo...
Good luck...he looks like a sweetie...
Purrs for Arthur...how about some salmon or mackeral?
My boy Osgood had hardly any teeth and he loved the little packets of chicken, and fish... mainly because it had so much 'gravy/sauce' on it.
Even warmed baby food in a meaty flavour might help...
How are Arthurs teeth ?
Good Wishes coming your way !
We would always encourage our kitties to eat salmon whenever they stopped eating. It worked in most cases. :) I hope Arthur starts to perk up. Is he an older cat? Sometimes, cats, as they age, naturally tend to eat less.
He is a beautiful boy! Reminds me a white cat (with a gray crown) named Snowball we had when I was growing up!
To get our two to eat at times, we have had success with salmon and also a little cream mixed with a lot of water.
I hope Arthur eats soon, will be back to check on him!
Hannah recommends chickhen.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
I am sending purrs to Arthur. I've gone through periods of not eating, but usually I will perk up for chicken. But whatever he will eat, give it to him. It's frustrating when the vet can't find anything to make better.
Oh, he looks thin, his kidneys are allright? I tried cooked fish, but I know when a cat doesn't like some special food of the vet, he won't eat it. Did the vet checked his tummy? I won't frighten you but my vet couldn't find something wrong too and a few weeks later my cat happened to have a tumor.
Give my love to Arthur, I hope so he will be well again.
Greetings, Marianne
Poor Arthur! Our Angel cat, Graphite, was always very thin, so we would always try to encourage him to eat more. He seemed to like cat milk, cheese, and dark meat chicken.
Get well soon Arthur - Love from Trixie in Norway (\(",)/)
I agree w/Sparkle and Katnip Lounge, there is nothing like roast chicken or salmon!
My first kitty LOVED to lick the spoon from tapioca pudding. I know that isn't great for cats but he just loved it!
Maybe his tummy is upset from mixing different types of food?
My kitty, Rosalita, went through a period of getting very thin. We found that she was having little bouts with asthma and didn't want to eat... Her asthma attacks have lessened, and so she has fattened up (maybe a little bit too much...)
Good luck to you and Arthur!
Oh sweet Arthur...why aren't you eating? How about raw chicken (just make sure it's done properly to prevent any tummy upsets. Ling loves steamed chicken too with all the yummy juices.....
Hey Arthur! Please eat. Your Mum is VERY worried.
Maybe he have nausea!! Poor Arthur! I´m sendign so much purrrayerrrssss. Stay better baby!
Poor Arthur, I din't know what to suggest. Perhaps some mortadella minced in your food or try just the gravy from cat food.
Cats around the world are now a bit worried about you and Charlotte and Emily send hugs.
I'm not really sure when cat sick should eat, but what I know. The Wet Food is for Diet ! To gain weight , he have to eat lots of dried food !
I purrs for Arthur to have his appetite back.
Purrs !!!! and Hugs to you Gattina
xoxo
We are so sorry to hear Arthur has been unwell ~ we are sending tons of healing purrs. We think he should have lots of treats to eat ~ all his fave things.
There are dieatary cat foods at the vets (who have supply stores) for recovering cats that are aimed at helping a cat recover its wieght after an illness or surgery with all the wellbalanced nutrients they need. They are easy for the cat to digest and to eat. They also smell so it will get them interested. But you wouldn't want them on it too long. Good luck with kitty!
Oh and be careful with shrimps or too much fish. The magnesium is hard on their bladders and can cause urinary tract infections. I learned this the hard way.
Monday: We just popped bak to see how Arthur is doing. PURRS.
Oh gosh, I didn't know about it, poor Arthur!I'm so worried about him, I hope he is feeling better today.
I'm sending lots of love to his heart!
Please Arthur, you need to eat something!
Luna and mammy Léia
Roast chicken! Purrs and prayers to Arthur.
Get well soon Arthur, we are praying for you.
When our kitties are sick or off their food we tempt them with Tuna in brine, they seem to prefer that over the Tuna in oil, and with well cooked tender chicken .
Also have you tried feeding him the soft special brands of food made for Senior cats?
Oh poor Arthur! Au is thriving on roast chicken. It's stuffed with protein, and easy to digest. We're purring for Arthur, and you and Mr G.
arthur make me remember my cat she was left the world 2 year before .
