CATS ON TUESDAY - Rosie's new toy

CATS ON TUESDAY

Last week I discovered that there were no more cotton sticks in the little bowl I have besides the bathroom sinks. Of course I accused Mr. Gattino of an exaggerated use to clean his ears. But he wasn't the culprit, because a little later I found these cotton sticks a little everywhere in the house and although he can leave his socks all over the house but certainly not cotton sticks.

And then I saw Rosie, she pulls out one by one, then throw them in the sink




and then one on the floor


Jumps and runs around


observes it

catches it

and is looking for the next one !

After the photo session, I went through the house and picked up at least 12 sticks !!

The weather is bad, it rains and it's cold. Arthur takes it with philosophy.

ROSIE AND THE TURTLE

Last time I went to Ikea I bought this little turtle. Rosie adopted it immediately as her new doll











and rolling and jumping and rolling ...

CATS ON TUESDAY - The old Lady

CATS ON TUESDAY

Lisa is the first cat I have which by getting old becomes more and more difficult. Max and Piccola lived with me for 20 years and when they were old they slept a lot, loved to be cuddled and then they got kidney troubles and I had to say them good bye.

Lisa is now 17 and really a very bad old lady. She wakes me up several times during the night by yowling like an old pigeon, it has nothing to do with a meauw anymore. The pill against anxiety helped, but it is not easy at all to give it to her every day, because she became more and more suspicious and runs away when she only sees me. It really couldn't continue like that.

If I don't move and get up immediately she would start to make other loud noises than her cooing. She scratches at the door, or wardrobe or any other thing available and a few nights ago she attacked a plastic bag which I had left on the floor. I can tell you the noise woke me up and that's what I saw



Lisa pulling and biting at the bag until I switched the light on ! Meanwhile I had realized that the poor thing is completely deaf now and reacts only on light or vibrations. She had also started to poo in the house. I thought over and over what to do. Giving her these medication all the time was not a solution and didn't help for the pooing. So I imagined to be deaf not to be able to see in the dark anymore and maybe being attacked by her sisters. Probably I also would yowl for help.

So what I have done, I prepared Mr. Gattino's office as her private room during nights. There was already a basket in and a scratch post. I just added a small litter box only for her own use and a bowl with water and food. Before I go to bed I lock her in this room and apparently she loves it. It's now the 3rd night I haven't heard anything and she didn't damage anything either. She used the litter box and slept in her basket. The food bowl is empty in the morning when I open the door. Then she greets me and goes outside for a little walk and I put the litter box and food bowls away until she goes to bed again. During the day she shares her life as usual with the others. Wish me luck that it continues like that !

Rosie, Arthur and Pookie are doing their 24 h sleep because it is cold and wet outside.

CATS ON TUESDAY - Rosie's Cocktail

CATS ON TUESDAY

All my cats, except Kim drink water from this little bowl, although there are two big once on the kitchen floor. Try to understand cats ! So it was not a surprise to see Rosie drinking besides the sink. But at a closer look I saw that she had prepared herself a cocktail not with an olive, but with a nice yellow mouse !

I found this very funny but took the mouse out because I thought she would have more space to drink ! Rosie was very upset about it, apparently the water without mouse didn't have the same taste, she dropped it in again !






That was good !

When she had enough, she pulled the mouse out



and carried it into the living room, where she dropped it on the carpet.





I thought I wouldn't need a TV for my amusement, Rosie and Arthur take care of that !

ARTHUR's TV PROGRAM

We have got a DVD representing an acquarium for our TV screen. It looks like an acquarium. When Arthur saw the fishes swimming he was very intrigued !


He turned his head from left to right and followed the fishes and became really very excited.




He even looked under the TV. Rosie watched a little too, but wasn't that interested.

Of course we all had a lot of fun with Arthur and his fish adventure ! I think next time we have guests Arthur can try to catch the fishes again, it's too funny !

CATS ON TUESDAY - Snow again !

CATS ON TUESDAY

When I opened the stores this morning, it was white outside !


Rosie couldn't believe it !


she had thought it was over now until next year and I had thought it too. She informed Arthur of this catastrophe and told him that she wouldn't go out not even for all mousies in the world, she gets cold paws and she doesn't like that at all !


She sighed and decided to start a 24 h nap or maybe more until the snow would melt !


Arthur didn't even have a look, just opened an eye and continued his winter sleep.

Remember my difficulties to give Lisa a pill ? I solved the problem !




I crash the pill into powder and mix it with this pasta treat. Then I had put it on her front paws and she had to clean it off of course ! I was the winner ! Now I put it on the end of the spoon and push it in her mouth when she sleeps and thinks there is no danger ! This works too.


Then she is very offended and runs away. But the procedure is forgotten quickly until the next day it starts again.
