A VISIT FOR THE CATS

Rosie now is not afraid anymore of the tunnel, she plays and hides in there much to Arthur's annoyance who has some difficulties to get in there, he thinks he has some weight problems lately. But he tries and follows her inside. Then you hear a big rustling and think the tube would explode in a minute.

and here she comes out, Arthur had disappeared while I was looking for my camera !

This week end our son came over for a visit. And of course he was quite surprised how big Rosie had become since he saw her last time. To play with the feather stick made them both happy, although it had lost a lot of feathers meanwhile.

Pookie also came, but didn't play. I think she was upset with her former servant because he had told her she is too fat. He had also dared to cuddle her without her agreement and forced her to sit on his knees. Pookie was very angry had hissed, even scratched and then had disappeared very offended. The former servant was very disappointed that his cat didn't great him with open paws.

Lisa was only interested in his bag to see if there was something eatable in it and as there was nothing she went away to see if there was something somewhere else to eat. Kim came from outside, had a short glance on her former servant made huge eyes and run away as if she had seen a monster. Double disappointment from former servant's side.

KIM HAPPY IN HER TENT !

CATS ON TUESDAY

For 4 days I still didn't know if Kim would sleep in her new tent (see previous post).

When the sun came out she still slept in front of the garden house although for my taste it was quite cool. Each time I checked the tent it was empty. But then hurrah, one day I saw her in the tent ! I really was happy. I thought already she wouldn't use it and I had bought it for nothing or maybe other cats.

But no, as soon as she heard me she came out to say hello. I asked her to go back in the tent again so that I could take a picture, but as usual cats never do what they are asked for.

Rosie who always follows me everywhere greated Kim happily. Since Kim has finally realized that Rosie was a cat and not a mouse or another strange furry thing, she became very friendly with her and doesn't run away anymore. They even give each other little kisses and Rosie is allowed to play with her bushy tail.

Since she is considered now as a grown up cat by the others, a certain hierarchy was established. The Queen mum of course is Lisa who hisses on everybody except Arthur and Kim. She doesn't like Pookie and chases her away and with Rosie it's not much better.

Then comes Queen Pookie, she doesn't like Lisa and avoids her respectfully and little Rosie gets all her frustrations, she hisses and sometimes gives her a slap. Rosie is not allowed to come near her. Arthur doesn't bother her and Kim had been her baby so Kim is allowed to wash her and sleep near her.

Arthur is the pasha in the whole group. He looks at all these hissing females (even Rosie learned it) with imperturbatility and a bored look but from time to time when he is in a playful mood he chases them around. Except of course Rosie who has become his big love. Rosie is allowed to do everything with him, he never lifts up a paw against her.

And then comes poor Kim who is ignored by everybody just as if she wouldn't exist even by the neighbor cats. Only Rosie pays attention to her.

Here is Kim now in her tent and she sleeps in it all the time and seems to be very happy ! Mr. Gattino put it in a protected corner on our terrace and the garden table protects her entry. But I hope that in winter she will sleep in again and changes her routine.


This was the little tent I first intended to buy, but I think it would have been to small for her and is also more a tent for inside or sunny weather.

A TENT FOR KIM

Kim is a rather strange cat. She seldom wanted to sleep inside, but did it sometimes. But since beginning of this year she only came in to say hello and fill her stomac. Then she went out again, sleeping under the table on a chair on our covered patio where I finally had put a towel. Sometimes she also used the dog house of our neighbor's dog. But now the summer (which hadn't been one) is gone and the garden furniture put away. Kim didn't change her habits and now sometimes even slept on the wet grass.

I was worried a little about this and as I had seen cat tents on some blogs I tried to buy one here. I couldn't find any.

But yesterday when I bought cat food in my usual pet shop, they had a tent ! and a real good one for outside ! It was only one on exposition, the shop owner wanted first to know if people were interested in it. I was ! I bought it immediately and here it is.

So far I couldn't take a picture of Kim in it, but she must have tried it because I saw that the plaid I had put in had moved a little. Hopefully she will use it !

RETURN FROM HOLIDAYS AND A BIG SURPRISE

CATS ON TUESDAY

When we came back from our one week holidays on the Garda Lake in Italy, Lisa appeared from nowhere and run over to us, she had heard the car. She greated us and then went straight into the kitchen, her stomac claiming as usual. She is in a very good shape again and apparently recovered very well during our absence. I have to say that my friend (and neighbor) always takes very good care of my little cat family.

I found Arthur sitting on the table showing no emotions at all, he just looked bored with a "what are you doing here" look in his eyes. He had two scratches on his cheek and had probably fought again with this bad black cat who attacks every male cat. He doesn't seem to be a very big hero because he is afraid of females !




Arthur didn't even like to have his photo taken and prefered to join his girls

for a little afternoon snack or "tea time" !

Kim had heard voices and stepped shortly in, realizing that it was only me, she turned around and disappeared in the garden again.

And then I found a big surprise for Rosie ! An envelope from Taiwan had arrived during our
absence from her "twin" brother

Adan ! (picture above) He had his secretary Michico sent it to Rosie in honor of his 10th birthday and what a nice surprise ! As soon as it was unwrapped, Rosie studied the content !

Adan's postcard "paw" signed !! He must have had a lot of work ! Two little mice to play with and a book sign. Thank you so much Adan !! And also thanks to Michico ! It was the first time in my and Rosie's life we got mail from Taiwan ! I mean for Rosie it's normal, she is a teenager but I ?


and to show Adan how much Rosie loved his gifts, I made this little video.

Pookie who was still a little upset because of my one week absence, had to check this gift too of course. She even touched a mouse so Rosie thought I better leave her alone, you never know !

and Pookie could inspect the gifts in peace.

Now the cats are happy and I too to be home again.
