CATS ON TUESDAY

CATS ON TUESDAY

I had put my backpack open on the floor, and when I came back it was squatted by Rosie !

I doubt very much that she wants to come with us and driving in the car to Amsterdam to celebrate Christmas there.

The last evening before we left, Pookie had found a new occupation, she sits on my lap and plays with her tail. Of course I got her sharp claws in my legs ! It looked so funny when she tried to catch it and bite in it. I watched more Pookie than the News, anyway they are always the same.

Arthur has discovered chocolate cookies and steals them from the plate on the table. I wondered what he was eating there when I saw that it was a cookie and the carpet was already full of crumbs. I had never heard of cats eating cookies with chocolate, and wonder why he does it now, he never did that before. Has anybody cookie eating cat experience ?

On Christmas day we arrived at noon

and had a first glance on the Christmas tree. The gifts were put late evening, because it would have been a too big temptation for one year old grandson Toby.

Mr. G. for a change doesn't play with his cats but with his grandson. We loved his little pajama with a bow tie he was wearing on Christmas morning.

When we came back in the afternoon, we thought we would find very sad and hungry cats.

Instead, we found these two still lives, which didn't even open an eye to greet us, they had celebrated Christmas with my neighbor who took care of all our cats since the 35 years we live here. Our cats know it because as soon as our car has disappeared Arthur and Pookie are sitting at her front door, performing starving cats. She lives just across the street !

Haha. The cats look stuffed from all the Christmas goodies your kind neighbour gave them! How nice to have neighbours look out for the kitties when you are away...even if just for a few hours.
Ling loves pineapple tarts and butter cookies but we only let her nibble a little. Chocolate of course is a no no as it is toxic to pets.

That's nice to have a kind neighbor who will look after the cats when you aren't there.
It looks like your cats had a nice day and didn't miss you at all.

Rosie looks so cute sleeping with all the toys.

Watch out with the chocolate. It is deadly for dogs and I've heard it can be just as harmful for cats.

Glad to hear that your cats are as mercenary as mine! They look as if they enjoyed their day with your neighbour, and how many toys does Rosie have in her bed?!? LOL! Never heard of a cat stealing cookies before, everything else, but not cookies.

MOL, how funny! Our cats do exactly the same to our neighbours when we dare to go away.

Vrolijke kerstmis, Gattina!

Agree 100% with you that cat watching is more interesting than the depressing news in TV!
Huh? Your cats didn't miss you?

I'm glad you enjoyed your Christmas holiday in Amsterdam with your grandson and family! Our cats always want to climb in the travel bags, too, just like Rosie. I wish they were as cooperative with getting into their carriers! Amber wanted to eat part of my seven layer cookie (full of chocolate chips and other sweets) and when I realized what she was doing, I took it away. No chocolate for cats or dogs.

We think that when a neighbour or friend feeds your cats they always like to leave a clean dish - do they get seconds we wonder!!

Rosie looks so cute in your backpack. Pookie looks very intent on her tail. Arthur found the joy of cookies. Good for him! Your grandson is so cute! Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas and so did the cats!

Looks like the cats are quite contented after Christmas. Lots of good food and good rest.

We are featuring a fellow cat blogger this week. Brulee and Truffle of Sweet Purrfections posed with a digital piano.

Hi Gattina,
your grandson looks really so cute with this suit. I think, Wiski would love any cookies when they contain enough butter. So nice that your cats have been uncomplicated during Christmas.
Have a great time,
Johanna

don't let the kitty eat chocolate! Not even a little bit, it is poisonous to cats and dogs

Looks like the cats at least had a relaxing time over Christmas. I went to Belgium just before Christmas once and it was lovely. Hope you all had a good time.

So cute your little grandson with the bow. Nice to see him on Christmas.

Leaving home is the worst problem when loving a cat. We usually let our Amidala stay home and get friends come into our home to feed and cuddle her.
When away for a week or more at my mother's home we always bring our cats along. They are welcome at her home and the worst thing is sitting in a cage for two hours. Our previous cats used to miew all the time, even being talked to all the time. Amidala never said a word, but did her # 1 and 2 in the cage. She's a long furred cat and has therefore had to baths this Christmas.
Besides, we've all had a wonderful time. My Mom is especially fond of Amidala and so appreciates her visits.

Never seen a bigger charmer than your grandson with a bow tie.
Heart-breaker!

We had Christmas at mom's, and all the cats (wisely) found safe places to hide from the grandkids. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year:)

Squeal!!! I adore your blog!
My sister has three ginger cats and one of hers is also named Pookie! How funny! My sister lives in Massachusetts, U.S.A. Pookie's real name is Zenna Bean, but when she stopped answering to that, they started calling her Pookie...how funny is that! It reminds me of T.S. Eliott's 'The Naming of Cats' poem. I do love kitties.
Please come stop by my blog...I live in California, U.S.A.
hugs, and have a happy New Year!
