CAT SELFIES AND ISIS

I just woke up to do the selfie !

Now I am exhausted

What is a selfie ?? That's my first one

I am Isis and proud to have done a selfie !

Rosie must have a sleeping virus, not the one which spread over the whole world, that's only for humans.

She sleeps most of the time and often on places where Arthur used to sleep.

It's too early to say if she misses him, but I think so, she looks a little lost and is more often with me then before.

Below is Isis, she belongs to my friend Nicole who adopted her from an animal shelter where her daughter works.

Isis is four years  old and a Birmanese cat, a little girl who should produce a lot of kittens. Fortunately Mr. Birmanese didn't like her or the other way around, it didn't work. On top the poor thing was terrorized by two little kids who loved her too much. Finally the owner had enough and brought her to the shelter.

She  was skinny and rather shy. Nicole was informed by her daughter that there was the ideal cat for her who was used to stay in an apartment and never go out. Nicole saw her and brought her home.

Ever since Isis became a beauty with her cross eyed blue eyes, her fur is shiny and she became more round. She also turned out not to be shy at all and is very social. When we are at Nicole's she is always with us and we can pet her she is not shy at all anymore. She is an only "child" now and of course spoilt ! She was lucky to find such a good home, in fact both are very happy to have found each other !

NEWS

As long as we have the climate change, the Global warming, and other warm ups or cool downs on our earth, my cats take it easy and mostly sleep until better times.

Arthur rests on one sofa

and then on the other, it depends on the climate change. Anyway he doesn't care that much because he doesn't go outside anymore. Maybe in spring if ever we will have spring he will go a bit on the terrace

Rosie also lays around and waits for better times, no mousie hunting, no chasing butterflies what a boring time ! Not even a snowflake to catch !

Fortunately there is the TV and my lap, not big enough for both, but they found an agreement, one to the left one to the right.

and something extraordinary happened ! Since maybe 16 years Rosie and Arthur have never slept together side by side. When she was little yes, even between his paws. And now that he is so old she lays besides him. Or she feels that he will not be there as long as she will or it is pure coincidence.

CAT SELFIES AND NEWS

It's far too early for selfies !

Is that me ??

No way to unfold Kim for a selfie.  So this is her selfie for the week !

I have been on holidays in Ireland where I made a trip by coach around the whole island; It was very nice. I wrote about on my main blog Writer's Cramps

And while I was away my cats were spoilt by Mr. G. The result was when I got out of the car in the evening no cat was there, except Arthur, but this is nothing special because he always comes from nowhere to check out who is coming. When he saw me, he briefly looked at me and disappeared again. What a welcome.

Rosie wasn't even upset as she normally is when I am away, no she was as usual as if I had never been away for 10 days. She slept between and on the cables as if she wanted to be connected to I don't know what, probably for energy saving.

and as usual my legs have to support her little head when we watch TV.

Arthur became a stalker. Ever since he discovered that he could watch over us from outside, he sits there on the window sill and looks inside. He does it every day at the same hour, except when it is raining. I wonder if he has a watch hidden in the garden.

but he also likes to take a sunbath inside with us. We of course sit on the sofas and not on the the floor.

Kim has become Mr. G's follower. When in the past she ignored all humans and ran away, slept outside and came only in for food, now that she is nearly 18, she has changed. I am still not allowed to pet her, but Mr. G. can do with her what he wants ! Even brush her belly, which is a real miracle.
When the evening approaches she sits there on the sofa on his place and waits that he arrives. Then she would meow in a soft voice until he has settled down and she immediately climbs on his lap.

Since Pookie is gone, she sleeps on the carpets where Pookie had slept in her last months. I wonder if she misses her.

CATS ON TUESDAY

When I came back from my tour around the UK, my cats didn't seem to have suffered at all during my absence ! I even wonder if they noticed it. Maybe Rosie.

Anyway, Arthur greeted me already at the car and showed me the way to the kitchen in case I had forgotten it.

He wasn't very happy that he had to share the sofa with me again and from a slim cat became big and bigger so that I had to move ! Finally we found an arrangement and could watch TV together.

When the sun came out he shared the bark with Kim. Apparently it's nice and warm, although I could imagine a more comfortable place then sleeping on bark.

As usual Arthur is a very helpful cat and while I was busy watching TV he mowed the lawn. At least he kept an eye on the robot. Satisfied with the result he returned home to check if there was something to eat in the bowls.

Pookie continues to sleep on Mr. G's bed and only checked my suitcase when I was unpacking.

But Rosie seemed to have missed me, because now she behaves like a chewing gum. She always sticks on me and my bed too shrinks !

In April Barbara from Words, Words, Words. wrote about a ginger cat who lives opposite Shakespeare's home. As we visited Stratford on Avon, I told the whole bus, that I wanted to look for this cat. As soon as we had free time, I started my investigations. After having asked in a first souvenir shop I was told the cat would live a little further in a souvenir shop. When I asked in the second shop the owner smiled, told me the cat's name was Angus and that he always walks up and down the street, and that he thinks that Angus belonged to another shop a little further down the road. I continued asking for the cat in the other souvenir shops too, but besides cute stories about Angus, I didn't see him.

All  the people in this street knew Angus and apparently he goes into all shops and in winter sleeps in the once where the radiator is the warmest. They all will probably remember a crazy lady coming from Belgium to look for a cat and not for Shakespeare's traces ! Very intellectual indeed.

These are pictures from Barbara's blog, and it is such a pity that Angus didn't show up ! That would have been so funny.

and the same street when I was there last week. As it was a bank holiday in the UK, there were so many people coming for Shakespeare and not for Angus the cat, I must have been the only one.

When I got back into the bus, I was greeted with big smiles, they asked me if my researches had been successful, but unfortunately nobody had seen Angus. I am sure he was sleeping somewhere waiting that this bank holiday finishes and the tourists disappear and he would have the street for his own again !
