THE FROGSTICK MISTERY CLEARED

All cats decided to go back to normal Blogger life. They were fat up that pumpkins, witches and other scary stuff were put around them and they had to make their most beautiful posture. Except Kim of course as she cannot change her furr coat and that's not a question of money.

For me it's easier to switch to normal life as I only celebrated Halloween virtually on my blog and nobody put staff around me and I didn't have to disguise myself into a witch but there I am sure my husband would say I wear always this costum.

The mistery of this frog stick has not been cleared.

We have never seen it and we don't now where it came from. Probably a Halloween left over.

Lisa (with the red cat) is to old for such ridicolous games she would never pick up things in a street and also she only goes to one neighbour because she feeds her. Love goes through the stomac. And this neighbour has certainly never possessed such a stick.

Kim (black) either would never pick up something. She even doesn't play at home or very seldom, I think she played twice in five years. She likes to walk around avoid all humans, lays in the sunshine to get white (not brown as we do) or when it rains likes to sleep in the neighbours dog's hut.


So there are two left, Arthur and Pookie (PC Pookie as I call her PC meaning "personal cat"). Pookie likes to play and also brings back little paper or foil balls and put it in front of your feet, she also likes to clean up ashtrays and disperses butts in the whole house, but she is inside most of the time. She only goes out for important businesses or when I am in the garden.

The only one we therefore concluded with the suspicious mind of Sherlock Holmes must be Arthur. He loves people and is well known in the whole neighbourhood. He also likes to discover other bedrooms, and above all comfortable beds, basements with fresh laundry and garages with open car doors. He is a very social cat.

He already brought us twice a very special gift the first one was a huge cordbone belonging to our neighbours dog ( story) and the second a french bread (story)

We still are unable to understand how he carried these big things in our house and that through the cat flap !

A little frog stick is nothing for him. He probably found it somewhere in a garden or besides a garbidge can who knows. And I don't see myself going from door to door with a frogstick like the Jehova witnesses with their bible, and ask to whom the stick belongs (or to convince them to take it) !

Conclusion, he was it ! Also when he always looks so innocent

And finally it's a nice gift isn't it ? I can put it on a cake or on cheese and that changes for a bit, as everything here in the house is in cat form.

I suggest this form of gymnastic for everyday, and over all during the forthcoming feasts.

This morning when I came into the kitchen, I found this strange frog stick besides the empty bowls. I had never seen it and wondered where it came from. Of course one of these little darlings must have brought it in, but who ????

Please help me to find out !

Kim doesn't need any Halloween decoration, as she is always in a Halloween costum. Besides the fact that she would run away like a flash, if ever I dared to put something around her.

ARE BLACK CATS WITCHES ?

Black cats have long been and for some people still are associated with witches and witchcraft, and therefore most of the costumes and decorations for Halloween are black cats and witches. Why it is so has been almost forgotten.

The Catholics have always celebrated the first of November as "The Solemnity of All Saints " and therefore October 31st is designated as All Hallows' Eve; because all Saints celebrated on Nov. 1st are considered hallowed. And that's why in almost all European countries the deads are remembered and everybody brings flowers to the graves of family and friends, which really has nothing to do with Halloween as it is known in the States, UK and Ireland. It is only coming since a few years to other European countries and every year celebrated more and more.

That black cats are witches was largely believed in the Middle Age and the poor cat was considered as very evil. Because cats are nocturnal and roam at night, they were believed to be supernatural servants of witches, or even witches themselves. They also believed that black cats are witches in disguise or reborn witches !

For several centuries "witches" were rounded up, tried, and killed by burning or other violent methods and often their familiars were killed along with them. And of course all black cats had a very hard life and were mostly killed.

But fortunately, regardless of these superstitions, black cats have their own large group of fans who love to be surrounded by these glossy black furr balls of love. And I belong to them. My first cat, Piccola, who shared my life for 20 years was black and brought me only luck !

Now we have Kim who since a few months has completely changed and out of a very shy and almost feral cat (although she came from my friend's breed) became an affectionated and friendly cat after 4 years ! I don't know what happened to her but now she behaves like a "normal" cat and even get's on our nerves as she "talks" so much

I should put her a hat on and give her a broom so with her two spotlights serving as eyes she could well scare people in the neighbourhood !
But then she will probably be accompagnied by Arthur who likes so much to walk around and say hello to everybody !

One thing is good ! At least I have a living Halloween decoration walking through the house !

TATTLES ABOUT BLACK CATS

As Halloween is approaching I were thinking about black cats and all what is said about them.

This is our cat Kim. She really is a beauty. She is a nice quite cat and loves every cat. She never fights, is friend with everybody and loves to be outside even if it is very cold. She really doesn't fit at all clichés about black cats !

Here are some proverbs about black cats and you also will notice that it varies from one country to the other.
