1st MAY - LILY OF THE VALLEY DAY

Today is the first of May and it is a holiday in Belgium like in most of the other European countries too. That day it is use to offer Lily of the valley flowers to your beloved once and friends. As the bad weather has returned, my cats were laying around in all corners.

I asked Arthur to pose for a picture with a Lily of the valley bouquet to send as an email to my friends.

He was in great shape as you can see ! Lazy cat !

all I could get was this sleepy picture, he didn't even want to sit up, all spring strength had gone. But I wish you anyway a happy 1st May day !

Then I tried a more artistic picture with Rosie. She too wasn't in model mood, lifted a paw ...

and sent my flower arrangement in my direction ! Water was running over the sofa and I had to dry it. I gave up !

Pookie assisted to this scene lazily laying on my bed,

later followed by Rosie who also was very tired from doing nothing. And the 1st of May is supposed to be a labor day !! Not for cats apparently !

We don't pose for pictures either! It must be a cat thing. Our Lillies of the Valley are blooming in our garden and they are beautiful.

In the last picture, Rosie's tail looks very long!

  10. ahhh...you're cats are so funny, I like part of your statement, "...tired of doing nothing..." hahahaha, LOL :D

meaouwy troops activities depend on the weather, if it is very hot & hugh humid, they will stay very lazy, sleeping all day long on the cold floor, but if it's bright shiny day with a little breeze on the way, they love to play fight;)

  11. Not very cooperative kitties but that's okay, I love the lilies of the valley. They are one of my favorites. I wish we had a nice May day celebration like that here but nothing special...

  12. I hope that you had a wonderful May Day, despite uncooperative cats. I love Arthur's yawn. Your lillies of the valley are lovely.

  13. I had never heard of a Lily of the valley tradition. That is so sweet.

  14. Well, we guess they didn't want to model. Cats can be rather independent.

  15. Sometimes you have to carry the
camera to get good pictures, I've
missed so many pictures this week
because they would not sit still!
I usally let them make their own
    stories since they're not always
    cooperative. Lily of Valley is
    sucha delicate flower, love the
    little "bells".
